Audition Requirements

Voice Auditions:

Please submit video recordings of two contrasting pieces, one of which must be an aria or art song in Italian. The combined length of both selections should not exceed 5 minutes.

Songs may be cut or shortened, and pre-recorded accompaniment is allowed.
All music must be performed from memory.

Strings Auditions:

Please submit a video recording of 2 contrasting selections.

Music memorization is not required.

For ALL Applicants

FSM total cost is $2500. This includes accommodations, music classes & coaching, and performance.
Accepted applicants are in charge of their own airfare & travel to and from Florence, Italy. And international health insurance.
Instrument rental from the school of music is not included if used.
All videos must be uploaded to YouTube and the link must be provided in the application below.
Students under 18 will need parent liability & release waivers.

LIABILITY AGREEMENT

I understand and release Florence Summer Music, its director, faculty, staff members, and acting agents are not responsible for the loss or damage of all and any personal property while in attendance and international travel to and from the Intensive.

MEDICAL RELEASE

By checking this box, I certify that I am at least 18 years old and consent to participate in the summer music intensive in Italy. I am aware of the risks involved and accept full responsibility for any health issues or injuries. I will have and provide proof of international health insurance, and bring any needed prescription medication with me. I release the director, organizers, staff, and affiliates from any claims or liabilities connected to my participation. I have disclosed any pertinent medical conditions and am physically able to join the program. I am able to walk a few miles and climb stairs without aide or elevator use. If under 18 a parent release of liability and medical release will be sent via email.

MEDIA RELEASE

By submitting this application you hereby grant permission to FLORENCE SUMMER MUSIC or anyone authorized by FLORENCE SUMMER MUSIC, to use and reproduce any video and/or photographs taken of you without any compensation to you (video and sound). You understand the video and/or photographs may be used in any manner or media such as websites, publications, promotions, broadcasts, advertisements or posters. You waive any right to inspect or approve the Florence Summer Music images or any printed or electronic matter that may be used with them.

The application must be filled out below with ALL materials included and the non-refundable registration fee, online at time of registration.
- The registration fee for both workshops is $65
- The fee is made payable through the application.

Tuition for all workshops is $2500

In order to participate in Florence Summer Music’s summer programs please make sure your passport is up to date and that it won’t expire until July 8th 2026
- Students passport must not expire before July 2026.

Instrument Information:
- Students are responsible for the transport of their instrument or cost of instrument rental.

Florence Summer Music is not responsible for any instrument damage during transport to and from Italy or during the duration of the workshop.

Students are responsible for airfare to and from Italy.
